Middleton police search man who acted suspicious toward girl at bus stop

MIDDLETON, Wis. — Middleton police are searching for a man who they said acted suspicious toward a girl at a bus stop Friday morning.

Officers said the incident occurred at the bus stop near the corner of Fortune Drive and Shirley Street. Just after 7:45 a.m., the man reportedly pulled up to the bus stop in a small black SUV and asked a 12-year-old girl if he could give her a ride to school.

After the girl refused, the man drove away. The man is described as a black man in his 30s or 40s with a medium build. His vehicle had no front license plate and was last seen driving north on North Gammon Road.

Middleton Police officers, including a school resource officer, as well as detectives from the department’s Investigative Services Bureau were sent to the scene and are investigating the incident.
