MADISON, Wis. — After a decade on the air with News 3 Now, Leah Linscheid will step down from News 3 Now This Morning to take a role behind the scenes as WISC-TV’s assistant news director.
Leah first started at WISC-TV back in 2012 as a full-time reporting intern before taking a job with sister station WKBT-TV in La Crosse after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She returned back “home” in 2014 to News 3 Now, covering her college town of Madison and hometown of Highland, Wis., in the southwest corner of the state. She served in several roles over the years, including reporter, photographer, and weekend anchor, most recently serving as morning anchor and executive producer of the show since 2018.
“It’s a bittersweet transition leaving a show and a staff that have become family to me,” Leah said. “But after six years of 2 a.m. alarm clocks, I’m excited to take on a new challenge and focus on the strategy behind our news product.”
Leah is expecting her second boy with husband Zack. She’ll take maternity leave this spring and return to News 3 Now in her management role this summer.
