La Crosse man sentenced to 5 years in federal prison for firearms charge

MADISON (WKBT) — A federal judge in Madison sentenced a La Crosse man to 5 years in prison for a firearms charge.

30-year-old Shane Tucker will spend 5 years in prison for possession of a firearm as a felon.

Officers arrested Tucker in July of last year following a domestic incident during which he threatened to “shoot this whole place up.” Officers found a handgun in Tucker’s backpack, which he was not legally permitted to have due to two previous drug trafficking convictions.

According to the judge, Tucker “had an established pattern of domestic violence” that factored into the sentence length.

Tucker will serve three years of supervised release following his 5-year prison sentence.
