South Dakota Presents Another Test for the Wisconsin Run Defense

It’s no secret one of the biggest weaknesses on the Wisconsin Badgers football team is their run defense. The defensive line is a position without a lot of depth and losing James Thompson Jr. indefinitely before the start of the season certainly didn’t help.

Last season, the Badgers allowed 135 yards per game. This season hasn’t started a whole lot better, giving up 120 yards and two rushing touchdowns to Western Michigan in a game where the Broncos had just seven total possessions in the game.

Fortunately for the Badgers, their next opponent is an FCS team.

Unfortunately for the Badgers, that team is the South Dakota Coyotes, who enter this game as the No. 5 team in the FCS rankings and are built to run the football.
