MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Dane County Board announced their recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month Friday, establishing the month officially in the county. The month runs from Sept. 15 until Oct. 15, starting on the independence day of several Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Sept. 16 is Mexico’s Independence Day, and Chile celebrates their independence on Sept. 18.
