Braelon Allen, a former running back for the Wisconsin football team, took to social media after the Badgers 38-21 loss to No. 13 USC, hinting at some deeper issues within the program.
In a cryptic post on X, Allen teased his opinion on the current state of the Badgers under head coach Luke Fickell and offensive coordinator Phil Longo.
“I’m gonna hold my tongue for now, but y’all gonna see me on a podcast one day explaining exactly what was going on my last season there 😂😂.”
Allen’s remarks point to his final season with Wisconsin in 2023, the first year of the Fickell era. The Fond du Lac native’s decision to remain with the program after the firing of Paul Chryst — the coach who recruited him — and the ensuing hiring of Fickell by Chris McIntosh was pivotal for the transition.
However, the statement suggests everything may not have been what it seemed behind closed doors.
As a junior, Allen played through injury, running for 984 yards on 181 carries (5.4 YPC) and 12 touchdowns on the ground. The 6-foot-1, 245-pound tailback also recorded a career-high 28 catches for 132 yards.
