The northern lights dazzled across Milwaukee and Madison this past weekend

Any glimpses of the aurora borealis in Wisconsin are usually reserved for the northern parts of the state. But Wisconsinites from Milwaukee to Madison were treated to a dazzling light show Sunday evening, as strong geomagnetic activity brought the northern lights to skies statewide.

Several Milwaukeeans reported pink-green aurora sightings from Atwater Park, while northern Wisconsinites glimpsed vivid red hues dancing across the sky.
