One dead, one hospitalized after a shooting in Sun Prairie

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — One person is dead and one is hospitalized after a shooting in Sun Prairie Friday night.

Lt. Ray Thomson of the Sun Prairie Police Department said Sun Prairie PD was called to the area of Martin Street and Elm Street around 7:00 p.m. Thomson said the victims were known to each other.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Thomson said a suspect hasn’t been identified and no arrests have been made.

Sun Prairie Police was assisted at the scene by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomson said more information would be released at a later time and the homicide investigation is ongoing.
