LAKE MILLS — A few Lake Mills kids have built a haunted house, and scared over 500 people at the Jefferson Boo Bash last week.
Lucas Bergman is 13 years old, and he, along with siblings, Elliot, 11, Molly, 9 and Logan, 7, have put together a modular building, including plywood panels, with two main rooms and a hallway.
This year, the M. Bell Horror Haus has a circus room with Logan as the clown and Molly as the ringmaster operating the drop room.
Logan plays the butcher and Elliot is an 8-foot-tall pumpkin man. The rest of the house is filled with creepy animatronics and decorations, including painted skeletons and cobwebs everywhere.
This isn’t the first year the Bergmans have put together a haunted house. They started in 2022, with a smaller audience of just family. Last year, they invited a few more friends and had 50 people in the haunted house. The Boo Bash was their first public event, and 550 people went through.
“It went amazing,” Lucas said.
All of the siblings excitedly shared that teenagers and adults that went through were screaming from the fright of the scenes. Lucas feels it was successful in scaring everyone that went through.
