Five people were killed when a car left the road and struck a tree in Wisconsin.
Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, along with other agencies, responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash around 11 p.m. Friday on Range Trail in Verona, southwest of Madison.
Police said that the car was traveling north on Range Trail when it left the road, striking a tree.
The car then became fully engulfed with fire, leaving the five people in the car dead at the scene.
The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the victim’s identities. The cause of the crash remains unknown and is under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
