Traveling “superload” to cause traffic delays in Dane County Tuesday

MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is warning motorists for potential significant traffic disruptions on Tuesday.

A “superload” will be traversing several key routes in Dane County mid-to-late morning hours. The oversized vehicle is scheduled to enter the county from Columbia County via US Highway 51, leading to a series of road closures and delays throughout the mid-to-late morning hours.

The “superload” will follow this route:

  • Enter Dane County on US Highway 51
  • Proceed on County Highway V West
  • Turn south on County Highway I/State Highway 19 West
  • Pass through Waunakee
  • Continue on US Highway 12
  • Conclude the Dane County route on State Highway 78

Drivers planning to travel along these roads are strongly encouraged to seek alternative routes or allow extra time to reach their destinations. The movement of the “superload” may result in temporary closures and reduced speeds, potentially impacting travel plans.

Authorities appreciate the public’s patience during this operation. You can check local traffic updates for real-time information on road conditions here .
