Madison school bus evacuated due to engine fire, no injuries reported

MADISON, Wis. — A Madison school bus was evacuated due to an engine fire Monday morning.

MFD said firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of Raymond Road and McKenna Boulevard. The driver reported smoke coming from the engine compartment, stopped the bus and evacuated everyone inside.

Fire crews entered the bus and found smoke. A small fire was seen inside the engine and MFD put the fire out.

It is unknown what was burning, how the fire started, or the impact of the damage.

A tow truck was called to remove the bus, and MPD remained on scene for traffic control.
