MPD arrests woman after hitting someone in apparent road rage incident on Madison’s west side

MADISON, Wis. — Madison Police arrested a woman Thursday afternoon after they said she hit someone in an apparent road rage incident on Madison’s west side.

MPD said officers were dispatched to westbound Highway 12 approaching the Gammon Road area, where two vehicles were brake-checking and swerving between one another.

Both got off at Gammon Road and stopped at a red light. A passenger in one of the vehicles allegedly got out to take photographs. As he was doing this, a 71-year-old woman reportedly stepped on the gas and struck him.

The driver was arrested for 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, first-offense OWI, and a ticket for having an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.
