Over a dozen shell casings found after shots reported on Madison’s east side

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police found over a dozen shell casings following a report of shots fired on the city’s east side Friday night.

Officers were called to the area of Mesta Lane at Commercial Ave. at around 7:50 p.m. No injuries were reported and there were no signs of property damage.

Madison police spokesperson Stephanie Fryer said officers found over two dozen shell casings, fired from two different weapons, in the area.
