Town of Campbell applies for federal safe drinking water funding to begin constructing well #1

TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WKBT) — The Town of Campbell has applied to fund the construction of a new water well through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program.

The Wisconsin DNR made the announcement Monday. The project includes the construction of well #1 (phase 1).

Applicants for the federal program must first submit to an environmental review process. This project does not require review under Wisconsin state law, according to the DNR.

The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program found the well project will not have adverse environmental effects and that no further analysis is needed before funding the project, however, public comments are encouraged regarding this decision, the DNR says.

Those comments should be submitted by December 2:

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources

C/O Michelle Brietzman, Community Financial Assistance, CF/2

101 S. Webster St.

P.O. Box 7921

Madison, WI 53707

Depending on comments received, the federal program may prepare another environmental analysis before funding the project.
