This may be one of the most memorable years I have ever had covering sports in more than 20 years. The achievements and accolades by athletes in the pool, track and on the gridiron will stand for themselves. Annika Rufenacht became the most decorated prep gymnast and athlete in the history of Verona High School. Once again, the Verona gymnastics team was the talk of the town and the top sports story of the year.
