LuAnn Lavon Tober

FITCHBURG – LuAnn Lavon Tober, age 63, of Fitchburg, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born into a large family, the seventh child of eight, on April 9, 1961, in Stoughton, the daughter of Lester and Lavon (Rikli) Odegard.

LuAnn attended Oregon High School and graduated from Camp Pendleton High School, Fall Brook, Calif., in 1979.  She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Tober at Oregon Methodist Church on December 23, 1977. She worked for Oregon School District for over 25 years.

LuAnn was a wonderful wife and mom and loved being a grandma to her number one grandson, Kyle. She will be fondly remembered for her love of boating, peace signs, tie dye and traveling to warm destinations, especially to those with a beach. LuAnn also loved cooking and baking, but spending time with her family was her most cherished past time.

LuAnn is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; daughters, April Tober and Jennifer Tober; grandson, Kyle Nelson; brothers, Douglas and Jeff Odegard; sister, Connie (David) Lowery; father-in-law, Merlin Tober; sisters-in-law, Dawn Odegard, Betts Odegard and Becky Miller; and brother-in-law, Mike Steichen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lavon; brothers, Richard “Dick” and Ron Odegard; sister and brother-in-law, Dolores (Fred) Schweitzer; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon (Bob) Sturdevant; mother-in-law, Helen Steichen; sister-in-law, Diane Odegard; and brother-in-law, George Miller.
