Monona police discuss importance of mental health training for law enforcement

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Law enforcement officers in Wisconsin are trained to respond to individuals in crisis through Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). Over the weekend, Monona police department responded to a call that started as a domestic violence situation and escalated to an armed man threatening to harm himself outside of a gas station.
