Work can begin on a new engineering building at the University of Wisconsin-Madison after the State Building Commission reversed course Friday and approved the long-awaited project.
Last month, the commission split along political lines in a 4-4 vote when it denied a request to adjust funding and approve construction. Democratic members joined the commission’s one citizen member in approving the project, while Republican members voted against.
