Man arrested after leading Monona police on chase

MONONA Wis. (WMTV) – A Madison man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a chase Saturday afternoon.

Monona Police Chief Brian Chaney said a Monona police department (MOPD) officer tried to conduct a traffic stop of an older model Jeep Grand Cherokee on W. Broadway near River Pl around 12:50 p.m.

The 23-year-old driver allegedly refused to stop, engaging MOPD in a vehicle pursuit. The man then drove onto Highway 12 and into the City of Fitchburg. Various outside agencies assisted MOPD by preparing tire deflation devices along the path of travel, but the driver continued back to Monona on Highway 12…
