The deadline to get a Real ID is just two months away and if air travelers do not have this new form of identification they will not be able to fly domestically unless they have another federally approved form of identification, like a passport.
The Transportation Security Administration said in a statement Tuesday announcing once the deadline arrives on May 7, every flyer must have a Real ID or “your air travel may be delayed,” unless you have another acceptable form of ID . A standard driver’s license will not suffice.
