Complaint: Madison man allegedly admitted to drinking ‘all day’ before deadly crash

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The suspect in a deadly crash on Madison’s southwest side was allegedly “drinking all day” and going about 90 mph two seconds before the wreck, according to a criminal complaint.

Rayan Bertrand, 20, is accused of first-degree reckless homicide, homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, first-degree recklessly endangering safety and two misdemeanor charges of causing injury while driving under the influence.

He appeared in Dane County Circuit Court on Monday, where a judge set his cash bond at $200,000. If he is released, conditions of his bond include that he is not allowed to make contact with any family member of the victim, he is not allowed to drink alcohol and he is not allowed to drive a vehicle…
