Turnover at the top: 5 Madison departments will get new leaders soon

Five key leadership roles in Madison’s city government will soon be vacant, sparking a flurry of interim appointments and national searches for replacements.

The city is currently operating without a permanent police chief, city clerk, transportation director or director of the Community Development Authority. At the end of the month, the leader of Metro Transit will leave, too.
