A tragic incident has sparked an investigation by Madison Police and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office after a man was discovered dead in the Dane County Jail early Tuesday morning. This event follows closely on the heels of serious felony charges being filed against the deceased.
The deceased, identified by media sources as Jeffrey Endres, 49, from Cottage Grove, was reportedly involved in a fatal incident prior to his death. However, official confirmation of his identity awaits autopsy results, according to a police spokesperson.
In a disturbing series of events, Endres was charged the day before his death with multiple felonies, including homicide. These charges were related to an incident on April 28, where Endres allegedly drove his Chevrolet Traverse into a family, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Kami Hansen and the family dog.
