Everyday Hero: Nonprofit helps pets stay with families during hard times

MADISON, Wis. — A southern Wisconsin nonprofit is helping pet owners avoid heartbreaking decisions by offering life-saving veterinary care to animals in crisis.

Thanks to the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine’s WisCARES clinic, one Madison woman and her dog are getting a second chance together.

Sarah Eaglin’s beloved 4-year-old english springer spaniel, Beau, is back on his paws after a devastating accident. His pelvis was shattered after being hit by a car.
