MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Affordable housing is an important topic for many residents in Madison and Dane County, and The City of Madison is doing what they can to meet residence affordable housing needs.
Affordable is income dependent. Affordable housing is generally 30% or less of a residents monthly paycheck. If a person is paying more than that, they are considered “housing cost burdened”.
The City of Madison is setting a goal of building 15,000 more homes within the next five years as to keep up with the population growth. A quarter of those homes are slated to be affordable units…
