1. 2 UW-Platteville students dead after suffering gunshot wounds

Two University of Wisconsin-Platteville students died in an “isolated event” at the university Monday, the university confirmed. Kelsie Martin, 22, of Beloit and Hallie Helms, 22, of Baraboo both died inside Wilgus Hall. Based on preliminary autopsy findings, Martin died due to the gunshot wound. Based on preliminary autopsy findings, Helms died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
