LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Air quality will reach unhealthy levels in Wisconsin Tuesday morning due to ongoing smoke from Canadian wildfires.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued a “Red” level advisory (Unhealthy) in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday in the following counties:

- Barron
- Bayfield
- Buffalo
- Burnett
- Chippewa
- Clark
- Douglas
- Dunn
- Eau Claire
- Florence
- Forest
- Iron
- Jackson
- La Crosse
- Langlade
- Lincoln
- Marathon
- Monroe
- Oneida
- Pepin
- Pierce
- Polk
- Price
- Rusk
- Sawyer
- St. Croix
- Taylor
- Trempealeau
- Vernon
- Vilas
- Washburn
- Wood
According to the DNR, heavy surface smoke will move into Wisconsin from the northwest overnight and likely reach the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin by 3:00 a.m.
