MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Madison Fire Department is rolling out a new program that allows residents to check out an AED before events or gatherings, allowing more people to have access to life-saving resources.
Dane County Emergency Management says 361 people suffered a heart attack in 2024. One-third of those people had an AED placed to support life-saving efforts.
One of the 42 people in Dane County who survived a heart attack in 2024 was Rökker, a Madison musician. Rökker suffered a heart attack while performing on stage on December 26th.
