Three weeks after a second trial of a former Oregon Community Pool employee accused of sexually assaulting two children ended in a mistrial, all charges in the case were dropped by the prosecution during a Thursday, June 12 Dane County Circuit Court Hearing.
According to online court records, James Meicher, 71 was facing three felony counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, with fines up to $100,000, imprisonment for up to 40 years or both.
Meicher returned to the courtroom for a jury trial on May 21-22 that once again ended with jurors unable to reach a verdict, and the judge declaring a mistrial. The previous trial in November 2024 was declared a mistrial after jurors remained deadlocked after two days of hearings…
