MADISON, Wis. — A court commissioner set bond at $10 million for a Madison man accused of trying to poison women he previously went on dates with and $4M for his girlfriend and alleged co-conspirator.
Paul Van Duyne, 43, is charged in Dane County with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and felony stalking. His girlfriend, Andrea Whitaker, 41, is charged in Dane County with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide as party to a crime and harboring/aiding a felon. As a condition of bond in both cases, the two must surrender their passports and are banned from Madison’s Midvale Heights Neighborhood.
Van Duyne and Whitaker are accused of using various chemicals including cyanide and thallium to poison two women. One woman, in Rock County, was hospitalized after she was allegedly poisoned.
