Verona officers arrested a 36-year-old Madison man on Friday, June 20 after an attempted traffic stop turned into a vehicle pursuit and crash.
According to a Verona Police Department (VPD) news release, an officer tried to stop a 2023 Range Rover near exit 76 on US Hwy. 18/151 for making unsafe lane changes around 8:16 p.m. Friday night.
The vehicle paused for a second before using the off-ramp at a high rate of speed. It lost control at the top of the ramp and collided with a tree.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Michael Gales of Madison, fled on foot from the crashed vehicle. He was found shortly after with marijuana and a large amount of money…
