Man recovered from Lake Mendota identified

MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday released the name of a man whose body was recovered from Lake Mendota over the weekend.

Morgan Kroll, 40, of Madison was recovered from the lake Sunday morning. A passerby reported seeing his body floating about 50 feet offshore near the Memorial Union at around 6:13 a.m.

A forensic examination was completed Monday, and the cause and manner of Kroll’s death were still pending as of late Tuesday morning. Additional testing was underway…
