Madison bus rapid transit seeking to address bridge plate concerns

A city Transportation Commission meeting this week revisited long-standing accessibility concerns with Madison’s bus rapid transit and outlined ongoing efforts to resolve them.

At the committee’s last meeting on accessibility in January, community complaints included drivers not deploying bridge plates (which help connect platforms and buses), buses driving past people using walkers or wheelchairs, and drivers not allowing people with mobility issues enough time to board a bus.
