UW Board of Regents Unanimously Approves Five Percent Tuition Increase

Today The Universities Of Wisconsin Board of Regents unanimously voted to increase tuition by 5% system wide. Even so, Regent Timothy Nixon voiced concerns during the meeting:

“My mother told me never to use the word ‘only’ and an amount of money in the same sentence. So while we are talking an amount of less than five hundred dollars, or five hundred dollars, when you don’t have five hundred dollars, it is a big deal,” he said.

This tuition hike comes off the heels of the University receiving $240 million in new state funding, after requesting $855 million funding increase from the state…
