Dane County sees increase in homelessness, sparking higher demand for resources

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Nearly 800 people in Dane County were recorded as being homeless this year, a 7% increase from 2024, according to an annual point in time survey.

Jim O’Keefe, Community Development Director with the City of Madison, says homelessness is an issue all year long, but it can be more noticeable during the summer.
