MONONA, Wis. — Monona police arrested a man Friday for operating while intoxicated after he drove nearly 100 mph along US 12 at South Towne Drive.
An officer reported the man was going 99 mph and worked to initiate a traffic stop. The officer, along with their backup, conducted a stop after the vehicle exited onto S. Stoughton Road. The car stopped along the shoulder north of E. Broadway.
Police said in contacting the driver, an officer immediately noted an odor alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the stop and exhibited signs of impairment. An inquiry into the driver’s record revealed that their license was revoked.
