MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – FoodWIse, a statewide program providing nutrition education to low-income families and community organizations, announced on Friday that its federal funding is being eliminated.
FoodWIse has been in operation for over 30 years, and was funded by the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP).
All SNAP-Ed funding will be eliminated by the congressional budget reconciliation bill, also known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which was signed into law on July 4. The cut in funds will take effect September 30, 2025, FoodWISe will continue operations until then…
