Microsoft data center plans growing beyond $3.3 billion in Mount Pleasant

  • Microsoft will complete its $3.3B investment by 2026.
  • Expansion sites in Racine County are planned but not yet under construction.

With the first phase of development wrapping up next year, Microsoft Corp. announced its Mount Pleasant data center development is growing.

In May 2024, former President Joe Biden and the company announced plans for the data center campus on land previously held for Foxconn Technology Group in the village of Mount Pleasant and Racine County. Kiewit Corp., Walsh Construction and Boldt are all involved in the project, which is estimated to be a $3.3 billion investment – and more is on the way.
