Madison to Milwaukee: Dangerous I-94 Storm Threat From 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday — Flooding, Lightning Possible

Milwaukee, Wis. – Drivers along I-94 from Madison to Milwaukee face hazardous travel conditions tonight as storms redevelop and move through the corridor until at least 3 a.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service warns of heavy rain, lightning, and localized flooding, with gusty winds possible.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, the initial line of storms will leave the Milwaukee area by 7 p.m., but additional thunderstorms are expected to form southwest of Madison and along I-94 through 8 p.m. A second round of storms is possible late tonight, especially south of I-94, bringing an increased risk for flash flooding in low-lying areas.

Motorists should slow down in heavy rain, avoid driving through flooded roadways, and prepare for reduced visibility from lightning and downpours.
