SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — The Sun Prairie Police Department said it will review body-warn camera footage from the arrest of a man Saturday night, after video of the arrest posted online garnered scrutiny.
Police were called to the 400 block of South Bird Street at around 11:19 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man assaulting a woman. When officers arrived, a 37-year-old Sun Prairie man was reportedly being restrained by another person while trying to fight someone.
According to police, the 37-year-old resisted when officers tried to take him into custody. Video of a portion of the arrest appears to show officers wrestling with the man in an apparent attempt to handcuff him. At one point int the video, an officer appears to use a Taser which sends the man flat on his back. Officers then flip the man onto his chest and place him in handcuffs…
