City of Madison to cut ribbon next week on redone Wilson Street Corridor

MADISON, Wis. — The City of Madison’s Engineering Division will cut the ribbon next week on the reconstructed Wilson Street Corridor.

The event will start at 9 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Wilson Street, at the plaza space that leads to the Monona Terrace. City staff, Alders and others are expected to speak.

The corridor’s remodeling is years in the making. The first phase of construction between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Henry Street/Hamilton Street was completed in 2018. Work between Franklin Street and Blair Street was finished in 2019…
