Dear Editor: Reportedly, there are proposals to increase fees for services in Dane County parks. As a Dane County resident, I believe that there must not be any increase in fees.
The government is always eager to increase taxes and fees to get as much money from the people as possible. I have been complaining about the Dane County wheel tax for years. And now, the county government wants to increase park fees. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Seniors, children and people of all ages use Dane County parks for a wide variety of reasons. Access to parks helps people have outdoor space for exercising, spending time with family and friends, as well as enjoying the warm weather in the summer. The availability of park shelters helps people to host events. The benefits of public parks are endless…
