STOUGHTON, Wis. (WMTV) – Twenty years ago on August 18, 2005, at least 27 tornadoes touched down across Wisconsin. It’s an outbreak for the Wisconsin history books according to the National Weather Service.
The strongest tornado hit Stoughton as an EF3, killing one person. Over 200 homes were damaged or destroyed.
“I was watching the news and the weather man said ‘If you’re anywhere near just north of Stoughton where Hwy B and 51 are connected. There is a tornado on the ground coming right at you.’ And that’s exactly where we lived,” Susan Slinde said…
