Sun Prairie teen arrested after driving away from traffic stop

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — A Sun Prairie teen was arrested on Friday after he reportedly drove away from a traffic stop last week.

The Sun Prairie Police Department said at about 7 p.m. last Monday, police stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of West Main Street. Police said the teen pulled into a business parking lot but drove away through a grassy area to return to the roadway. Officers briefly went after the vehicle, but after losing sight of it, ended the pursuit.

On Friday, the teen was stopped by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody on charges related to the initial traffic stop. He was taken to the Dane County Jail…
