MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds Labor Day weekend ATV-UTV riders that more DNR conservation wardens and county recreation deputies will be patrolling on trails and routes as part of the Think Smart Before You Start safety campaign.
Wardens and deputies from county sheriff’s offices statewide will monitor for risky behaviors and provide safety tips.
There have been 27 fatal UTV/ATV crashes in Wisconsin in 2025. Most of them were not wearing seatbelts or helmets, and alcohol and speed were also contributing factors…
