A Beautiful Stretch of Weather Ahead

  • Dry, sunny, and pleasant conditions for the holiday weekend
  • An additional cold front arrives Wednesday to bring chances for showers/storms
  • Much cooler temperatures by the end of the week

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – As we begin our holiday weekend, high pressure over Lake Michigan continues to bring pleasant and calm conditions to the region. With that being said, lingering isolated sprinkles and light rain showers are still possible through late morning. Conditions will then remain dry for the rest of the weekend.

Areas of fog are possible along and west of the Kettle Moraine, especially in Sheboygan and Lafayette/Green Counties, where skies have remained clearer overnight. Any fog that develops will dissipate after sunrise to give way to partly sunny skies. High temperatures today will be in the low to mid-70s.

What’s Coming Up…

This evening and overnight, temperatures will cool down and dip into the upper 40s to low 50s throughout the area. Waking up Sunday morning, there is the potential for fog to develop once again, and it could be dense in some spots. Just like today, though, this will burn off after sunrise and mostly sunny skies will follow. High temperatures will be slightly warmer than today as highs will be in the middle and upper 70s. Overall, it is shaping up to be a beautiful Labor Day weekend ahead.

Looking Ahead…

Looking ahead to the start of the week, conditions will remain dry and quiet. Ridging will build over the region, strengthening high pressure over the Great Lakes and keeping the weather calm and clear through Tuesday…
