17-year-old student arrested for bringing gun to La Follette High School

MADISON, Wis. — A student at La Follette High School was arrested after bringing a gun to school on Tuesday morning, according to Madison Police.

The 17-year-old student allegedly left campus and hid the weapon, returning to class afterwards. There were no disruptions at the school as a result of the incident.

Madison Police were contacted by the school and looked at surveillance footage to identify the student suspect. Police ended up finding an unloaded handgun in a yard along Pflaum Road and ammunition was found in the student’s backpack. They also found cellphone photos of the student holding the same gun that was recovered. In that photo, he was dressed in the same clothes he had worn to school that day…
