Monona police arrest suspect in burglary case, accused of stealing $10K worth of property

MONONA, Wis. — Monona police arrested a man after they said he was involved in a burglary that occurred earlier this month.

Officers were dispatched on Sept. 2 at 11:39 a.m. to the 800 block of E. Broadway after a commercial business manager reported that a shed had been broken into over the weekend. More than $10,000 worth of property was allegedly stolen. Monona police and detectives identified a suspect.

A deputy from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on the suspect on Sept. 9 at approximately 9:30 a.m. The suspect had an active arrest warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The Monona Police Department was contacted and responded to the traffic stop. The suspect reportedly told investigators that the stolen property had been taken to a scrapyard for its metal value…
