YMCA of Dane County provides over $268K in scholarships for summer camp

MADISON, Wis. — The YMCA of Dane County announced Tuesday that it tallied $268,000 in scholarships that allowed kids to attend Y Summer Camp this summer, enabling them to learn valuable skills while staying engaged during their break.

The funds gathered in scholarships allowed 668 weeks of camp at no cost for 66 kids from 35 local families. Additionally, 30 of the campers received daily lunches.

The YMCA of Dane County collaborated with the following organizations to find people who needed free camp weeks the most.

  • Catholic Charities
  • The Salvation Army
  • Sun Prairie Community Schools
  • Avenues to Community
  • Madison Metropolitan School District
  • The Road Home
  • County of Dane
  • Monona Grove School District
  • Joining Forces for Families
